Eileen T. Carroll
June 8, 1929 – October 16, 2022
Eileen Carroll passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 16, 2022. She had been loved by her husband, Richard, for 73 years and is loved still.
Eileen was an only child born to Padis and Agnes Oddis in Martains Ferry, Ohio on June 8, 1929. Eileen grew up in Martains Ferry, Ohio and graduated from Martins Ferry High School in 1948. She married Richard Carroll on January 29, 1949. They lived in Martains Ferry, Ohio where Greg, the oldest of five children was born. Later, they moved to Akron, Ohio where a second son, Terrence was born. They moved to Los Angles, California for a short period, and then returned to Ohio where they settled in Columbus, Ohio for 33 years. They had three daughters born in Columbus – Susan, Elizabeth, and Robin.
Eileen was a housewife and later worked for many years at Highlights for Children in Columbus. After retirement in 1991, Eileen and Richard moved to Evergreen, Colorado where their oldest son, Greg and his wife lived. They lived in Evergreen for almost four years before settling in Battlement Mesa, Colorado. They enjoyed life on the Western Slope for almost 27 years where Eileen and Richard made many friends. She looked forward to the migration of hummingbirds each year.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Greg Carroll (Josie); son, Terrence Carroll; daughter, Susan DeFreece (Scott); daughter, Elizabeth Bond (David); daughter, Robin Carroll (Joe), two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial will take place at a later date.
