Martha Mae Enewold

Martha Enewold passed away on June 8, 2021 in Rifle, Colorado. She was born on July 25, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1942 she started working for North America Aviation in Kansas City, during World War II as “Rosie the Riveter”. She married Lee Roy Enewold on January 27, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a secretary and treasure for her husband’s Lee construction company (Bee Construction Company) In 1968 She went to work for JC Penney’s and opened the Cinderella City store in Englewood Colorado. Later she was transferred to the District office as a payroll supervisor for 6 states, 101 stores, and 1850 employees. In 1971 she transferred to Glenwood as Store office manager and Retired after 24 years. In her free time she enjoyed playing in the Ginger Cookie Bank ( Slapstick Style) where she played the “Gut Bucket” for 20 years. She was a member of the Glenwood Spring, Business and Professional Women Association and was a member of the Methodist Church in Glenwood for many many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lee Enewold, they were married for 61 years.
She is survived by her children Dan ( Jennifer) Enewold, Steve ( Beverly) Enewold and Nancee(David) Goodrich, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
