Obituary for Sean Douglas Hurt

Sean Douglas Hurt, 38, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado passed away suddenly on Sunday February 13, 2022. He was born on Jun 25, 1983 in Fairfax, VA.

He is survived by his father, Douglas M. Hurt, sister Christina Kreidel; son, Aidan Hurt and daughter Summer Hurt with his ex-wife, Melissa Hurt Stepfather Rodney Hill, and Grandfather Louis Caotes; brother Brent Hurt; AuntsDebbie Kunin, and cousins Jennifer, Megan, Danielle Kunin, Vicki Hurt, Jennifer Hurt, Jane Hurt, Uncles, David A Hurt III, Donald Hurt, Dennis Hurt, and Gary Mathews; ; his godmother and cousin Brenda Miller; and cousins Ashleigh and Melissa Miller, Joan Bjorensen, Kim LaFlamme, Paul Hurt, Kyle Hurt, Ross Hurt, Timothy Hurt, Amanda, Hurt, David Creeden Hurt, Bradley Hurt, Chris Hurt and Jeff Hurt.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Snyder Hill; Aunt, Janet Mathews; and cousin, Elizabeth Hurt; three grandparents, Kay Coates, Cdr. David A. Hurt Jr, and Eva Moore Hurt.

Over the years he developed a passion for the Culinary Arts. He studied at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta GA. He completed his required internship with the Telluride Resort in Telluride, CO. Through his passion for the Culinary Arts, he quickly established himself as a top chef in both the Washington DC and Colorado areas. He particularly loved the scenic and peaceful Glenwood Springs area with its hot springs and proximity to skiing.

He was a one-of-a-kind soul, amazing chef, who loved his family and friends dearly and will live in our hearts forever. The family is planning a private service and interment in April.
